Hello

Hi there, im a newbie, mainly joined up as one of my friends is on here.

Im starting up my own business tuning and just general servicing, i offer anything from a auxillary belt change, to a full race spec build with ITB's.

My current driver is a 96 clio 16v, which shall soon be the UK's fastest NA clio, running hopefully, 230ish bhp.

Im quite happy to offer advice, and will be please to stay around.

well heres pics of it at its current stage, I've just built up a Fully ported and polished head that i did, matching the gaskets on both inlet and exhaust ports, and also modified the valve guides to optimise flow. The cams i'll be running are 276 inlet at 11.4mm lift and 270 exhaust with 11mm of lift.

not bad! not keen on the wheels, but somehow I don't think that's the point :D.

mate of mine had a valver williams replica. chipped, induction kit, full stainless (powerflow I think, can't remember) and fast road camshaft (dunno what lift/timing). 150 at the fly (apparently, my mate bought it 2nd hand for £500 and sold it 6months later) and it was pretty quick. he was right miffed when some pretty boy slaughtered him in a 172 though :D.

so you do port/polishing work yourself? proper flow bench stuff?

I do all the porting and polishing myself and i get a local company to flow it for me. Ive had 13bhp gains on a 1.4 8v head. and 10bhp on a valver. 150 is quite common for the valvers once cammed, its a shame really as they hit 160 and then its a brickwall, and you'll struggle to make any decent power and keep the torque once above 170bhp. A cam'd F7R(2.0 bottom end) will slaughter a 1.8 on bodies, and a F7R on bodies will scare quite a few things! if i do get 230bhp out of mine i will be running around 270bhp/tonne.

I used to have a ph1 172, it was around 180/190bhp, agina it was more playing and finding out what worked well on them, it would pull like a train until 130mph, then die off but would pull to 162mph where it hit the limiter in 5th. But this valver, seems to be as quick, if not quicker in places then the 172, 0-60 the 172 will have the edge, but at around 80 the valver pulls harder for longer.

Im currently working on a 280mm brake conversion for the valver/williams that will hopefully be alot cheaper than the current market. once iove got my name about for the renaults, i will extend my work to others, although, im currently doing MOT repair work for a friends golf gti.

Nice valver clio, I seem to have a strange interest in these.

The cams sound nice, make some for the GTi. please. lol

These are the current cams i can offer:

Duration - Duration - Max lift - Lift@TDC

275 / 266° - 226 / 216° - 10.15 / 9.50mm - 1.25 / 0.85mm

282 / 275° - 234 / 226° - 10.60 / 10.15mm - 1.60 / 1.25mm

The you need solid lifters and stronger spring rates for these:

Duration - Duration - Max lift - Lift@TDC
289 / 282° - 242 / 234° - 11.10 / 10.60mm - 2.20 / 1.80mm

298 / 289° - 250 / 242° - 11.60 / 11.10mm - 2.95 / 2.45mm

305 / 298° - 258 / 250° - 12.05 / 11.60mm - 3.45 / 2.95mm

Looking good fella. What 1/4mile times you getting? Whats your current wheel HP?

Not done a standing 1/4 mile yet as they're all too far away! rooling road, again havent had one done yet, but all im quoting at the moment is standard power, which is 137bhp@fly, but, it does seem a bit quick for 137 as mine pulls alot better than other valvers, and infact cars that should wipe the floor with it, I played with a 230bhp corrado G60 thats been turbo converted and i pulled past him quite well, so i think its in the rehion of 140-145, Im fitting a decat tomorrow(weather permitting) so it'll be good to see that then.

Heres a 0-90 vid(full tank of fuel, 14degrees AIT)

I was speaking to luke tonight, about organising a midnoght run, from gordano, through cheddar, into shepton or street, nice roads!

fancy doing some headwork for my 1.6 205? got a spare head in the garage not doing much :D.

lol. if I could afford it, I'd get my sr20 head worked while I'm waiting for the time to do the swap.

love the sound those engines make.

yea, standard pricing is £150 for a 8v head, and £250 for a 16v head, but AOC discount brings it down to £125 and £225. £150 inc postage.
