Hello

Hey all, recently bought a pretty mint 1.4 Si in Metallic Blue.

Been doing a few bits and bobs on it so I've signed up and became a member to get some information on a few little things but cant seem to find what I need.

Basically i saw the rear wiper mod to make the rear wiper lay flat on the rear windscreen as it was getting annoying sat in the middle of the window :P Anyway I found the article on how to do this and so far ive got the motor out and open but I don't understand what to do next and it seems the pdf with the pictures isn't hosted anymore? Any help with this would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Rob.

Welcome Rob and well done for signing up so soon. I've found it to be a very good investment :).

I myself can't help but I'm sure someone will be along shortly with the answer.

Tools required: Trim clip tool or Screwdriver, 10mm socket, 12mm socket and ratchet, Philips screwdriver.
other stuff: Yellow electrical terminal (big size)
Remove the rear wiper arm 12mm nut.
Remove boot trim 1 Philips screw and prize of with trim tool or screwdriver.
Remove motor 3 10mm bolts and unplug wiring.
Remove the 4 screws of the back of the motor.
Remove link bar use trim tool to prize off.
Now using electrical terminal cut the plastic sleeve of so you have about 5mm of it and now put a slit in it so you can open it up.
Put the plastic sleeve over one of the pins on the link arm.
Put the pin with the sleeve on it to the opposite hole on the big cog and the other end back into the spindle.
Put the motor backing back on including earth strap.
Refit the motor and wiring plug.
If you now turn the rear wiper on, the motor will park the wiper at the bottom
of the window.
Refit the wiper arm.
Refit the boot trim and job done.

Stole this from rick :P

Is this the bit your getting confused with?

Oh and welcome to the club.

They are the instructions i've been following but now the motor is open im not sure what is what and what is going where

Edit: Yep its that line and the 2 before it, just need pictures really which were in the pdf file I presume? but the link to it doesn't work anymore

No pics but on the main cog there are 2 holes, the arm sits in one of these. To reverse the wiper and make it park flat it needs to sit in the other, but you need to make it fit snugly either by transferring over the washer from the first hole or fitting a plastic sleeve.
