Hello..

Hello all, i have an r reg gti that im building as a track car, somehow over the christmas period the only key / fob has been lost / misplaced.
luckily its in the workshop so was unlocked so i have removed the alarm but im now faced with the problem of it not starting due to the key having a chip.
My question is can i get it running without having to shell out for a replacement ecu /key & transponder as like i said its a track car so i remove the ignition locks etc & have it starting from a start button.
Obviously if its possible i dont expect anyone to tell me on a forum were everyone could see, so i could be messaged the info if possible.
Thanks in advance.
Michael.

I would like to completely bypass it if its possible as the car will be stripped of all locks and interior / dashboard etc.
If it is not possible then i will have to search for the components but this would have to be a last resort as this is track car number three and money is tight.
Thanks for your reply[/quote]

Naaaaat. My de-NATS only worked for a few minutes. IIRC there are a few places that will remove it for £100 or so.

If you want to remove the locks ect, just tape the chip to the immob ring and tuck it away into the loom then firget about it. The immobilser will be effectively disabled all the time, allowing you to run a start switch/button without the need to use a key.
