Help:HID n15

Are you sure you are using HID lights?
They are not standard on any N15 model. Could it just be xenon filled bulbs?

Why do you want to remove the reflector?

You can get hid conversion kits for different bulb fitments ie;h4,h1 etc.You need to remove the reflective unit because the beam gets distorted and light beams go all over the place instead of being a focused beam!

Has anyone remove the reflector inside the headlight?
If you want to take it out then I think it is the same as you would deglobe the indicators. Remove the lense from the front using oven/hot water and then do whatever you want before doing the same to put them back together. Think 'Whitey' took his apart a while ago on his red SRi so he could spray the surround on the inside red. Sure there must be a thread about it on here somewhere, you'll have to go searching for it. If I find it I'll edit this post.

EDITED:
Here is a link to how 'Whitey' took his apart. You may be able to remove the refective bits once opened and the put the lense back on when done.

I have PIAA HID lights, just went out to look and the reflectors are definatly still in it. The beams are perfect too.
They are only the bulbs that use xenon gas,he is talking about an actual conversion kit that changes the stock lights to the same as what the likes of some mercs and bm's would have coming out of the factory, much more powerful. If you park a car at night with factory xenon lights up beside a car that has been converted to xenon lights you would the difference in the beam!

hi. iam using hid at the monment. i have thought about it. but im afraid it will cause too bright or may be the reflectors in the headlamp not removeable unless u rip it off. yes it is abit losing focus with the thing on but they are still brighter than any halogen bulbs for sure. may be you should try taking out the reflectors of the bulbs? i dare u try. too expensive for me :D
