Have just driven back from Derby no issues at all, ran perfect like it always has, It was raining on the way back but not heavy just constant.

Ive just got home parked on my drive for about a minute, gone back out to move the car and the revs on idle are just dropping all over the place, then it struggles like mad and stalls :(

WTF is up, when we drove to JAE the rain was 10x worse, driving through huge puddles n such, so I wouldnt of thought it was anything to do with that??!

Anybody have any ideas really need the car tonight n all :(

Did you turn the engine off when it was on the drive?
If you didnt, is it now struggling to rev over say 3k?
Mine had a problem like this, power suddenly died and wouldnt rev up, progressively got slower until it stalled and wouldnt restart. Was some sort of alternator problem, where the battery wasnt being charged so it was running the battery flat, and the alternator couldnt supply enough voltage under load

That sounds exactly like it, just been out, if I put my foot on the accelerator, nothing happens till you press it a few times,

Mine restarts though once its died, Im hoping now its just somethings wet, but theres no reason for it to be,

Did you have to get a new alternator?

Have just got out to the car managed to use someones garage have had a look in the engine and everything is bone dry

Maybe damp got into a damaged plug lead?....unplug each lead in turn when the engines playing up until you dont make it any worse.

If you pressed the accelerator before starting, it may have had too much fuel when it started and then reduced the fuel so it did not back fire a smash the catalytic converter.

Start it again and see if it does it again – if not, could just have been a one off and don’t be bothered about it.

Its not a carb
Fuel will only inject with the engine running.

This is how it idles just before it dies, its really lumpy

This is the only thing Ive heard that I can relate it too  ,
Clicky

Theres nothing immediately that jumps out, in the engine bay as being loose :(

im with ian on this one, have you changed the oill recently and tipped some near the plugs?
had a similar thing when i bought the car, the garage toped it with oil, i drove it all the way home not a prob, when i got home the oil seeped into the plug chambers..

Rowdy  o yes - :rasp: its my age.

What about checking your spark plug colour. If it is miss firing it may be sooty. Was you driving at normal speed on your way home?

After checking all the plugs, leads etc, I went for the dizzy cap and then I noticed the problem,

The pipe on the bottom of the intake pipe had split on the side nearest the engine and the bung I had in place had dropped out slightly, (Cue lots of words)

Took the pipe off and bunged it up good n proper, its fine now, always the simplest things aint it.
Time for a stainless steel pipe me thinks.

Thankyou for all your suggestions and replys.

Thats interesting, so its a vacuum problem? Mine has problems when you are on the brakes coming up to a junction with the engine cold. The revs dive down to 400 and back up to idle a couple of times, I'm fairly sure its due to the cold air feed and the extra vacuum created by applying the brakes

Mine was defo a vaccum problem, I covered the pipe with my hand and the revs immediately picked up, as soon as I removed my hand it died,
If yours runs it doesnt really sound like its a vacuum problem,
