help please!!!!!!

hi guys
i am commin up two my 2nd years no claims an have always wanted a almera gti does anybody have any tips on things that a expensive to replace an the bad rust spot hopefully they should nt be many ,i have heard lots of gd thing bout the nissian an they bullet proof relialbe. also they jap so i guess the posalbeities are endless in mods .also how do they compare to other gti s,gsi,vts,vtecs an hot hatchs 0 60 time quarter mile times,what go they top out at ,want could i realisticly run the cars bhp at on a low budget sendin bout grand on mods give or take ,wat r the best to do first ,waht the differents be between the gti an gti speedline ? thank u

In terms of rust, it is the arches, sills, rear suspension turrets, and the general underside of the car to watch out for.
Any car is going to be reliable if it well maintained.... a neglected SR20 wont be "bullet proof".

The possibilities arent exactly endless with regard to mods, to start with the first mod you should do if you are serious about getting a GTi costs about £15 but will save you endless amounts of money, and you will then gain all the knowledge you crave... ;)
 
A gti holds its won against other hot hatches. 0-60 isn`t blistering, mid-range acceleration is its best feature ( 60-100 mph ). The overall package makes it one of the best.
 
having owned a couple of hatches in the past, against similar aged cars it's just as fast, and its quite a big car too, i've often had a car full of people with ease, and carried some big items in the boot but theres a piece of metal in the way on gtis lol

the 1.4 i had, was just over 120,000 before i swapped with my brother, not one problem in the year i had it, now the gti is on 120,000 and i havent had any problems, my brother had radiator problems with rust he told me, but i had a pugeot 206 and that was just bad, got rid after 4 months, but loved it to bits, cost a fortune though

got a load of rust on my 1.4 and the gti is no different, the oil leaks cos of rust, the underneath of the bonnet is rusty, but nothing that is obvious from the outside

i dont want to get rid of my almera, but rust is getting the better, and i have plans of either 300zx or a supra twin turbo if funds allow it in 3 months, 1300 for a supra insurance woohoo
