hey all iv got an nissan almera sri phase 1 with 64000m with full nissan dealer history and just started to modify it
*full stainless catback exhaust system
*stainless tanabe racing induction pipe and apiro filter

but theres a few things i want to kno if anyone wil help

im sure there is an ecu on it somewhere but i cant find it ( soon to be chipped) if i can find it that is lol
and im after a manifold for it aswell but no1 i can find sells them
and can the cat be taken out without no problems (obviously not at mot time lol)

any help will be appreciated thanks ppl

'Chipping' it with Exhaust and Induction kit will do FA mate. Only when you have things like aggressive cams, headwork etc done should you be thinking about chipping or mapping it. It doesnt work like a turbo car.

Save your money for a custom manifold or the one Tommo has (I forget the name but ask him and he should know).
Get a de-cat pipe made up or I think mera_red_gti bought a snazzy off the shelf item.

yeah matey im getting my cams done at some point ( obviously before the remap)
but im going to have a custom manifold downpipe and decat made and built onto my car

are there any reasonably cheap mods that i can do that will increase power

Where bouts in Sheffield?

Nice one, I have a bright red one also, powerflow exhaust and GTi Alloys. I'm usually in Sheffield on evenings so gimme a flash if you see me :)
 
ECU is behind the center console (radio etc) on the floor, to the left of ur clutch pedal under a cover.

you might get some benefit from chipping it, speak to the place that does the work about it, an adjustable fuel pressure regulator (FSE or the nismo one) would probably be handy if you intend to chip it with just the exhaust and intake.

for manifolds avoid obx or 'ssac' (ssac are probably the same design) for the 1.6 SRi, they wont fit, they are utter fucking shite.

cat replacement pipe is easy enough to fit, the bolts from the front pipe to the cat will be shafted though, so you will need to cut them off. maybe best to do this when you get a manifold as you can just undo the rear cat bolts and it'll come off with the standard manifold.
this way you will have the standard manifold (with its pre-cat inside it) and the main cat all in one, as you will need both for it to pass the MOT emmisions test.
 
Decat it mate, that'll make about the biggest difference you'll notice. If you've already got an aftermarket catback system, you'll get a nice sound too.
Mess with your ignition timing also mate.
