Finnished work at 8 2nite and went to start the car and it just did'nt want to start. Its not hte battery cos the interier light was on and when i was turning the key it jus did not start. i had to pump the accelerator for about 5 mins untill it eventually started. any1 no what this could be?

not sure, only had the car 6 months and it had a full service 20 miles before that

no im not 100%, its got on the service book it had a full service from arnold clark
when did you last fill up? was it at a supermarket? cos some off them can have dirty fuel but i aint herd of that happenin for a while, or was u on v low fuel
got petrol from morrisons the other night. im pretty low on petrol but the light is not on but iv been like tht lots of times. never smelt any petrol. last filled up bout 4 days ago
i think wezz is right get ya filter checked, could be a block in the fuel lines perhaps
any cheap sites where i can buy a fuel filter?
If you deffo can`t smell petrol, try this:
Leave the door open, & turn the ignition on, so that the dash lights come on, but DON`T crank the engine & listen for a short 1-2 second buzz from in front of the rear wheel, if you can`t hear it, the fuel pump isn`t priming, meaning the fuse has probably gone.
If it is priming, but not firing, change the filter asap.
EDIT: Doh! Ignore that, I assumed you had an N15, but just seen that you`ve got an N16, so it may not have the same priming procedure as the N15. :O
Ah, Arnold Clark, assume the fuel filter wasn't done & check your plugs. They are lying, thieving bastards.
