Hey All

Hello everyone, i'm kieran. 18 from scotland.

i'm looking to get an almera 1.4(gx or equation) for my first car, i was just wondering if anyone had any pointers at areas to look out for when buying one, i have been advised to check the front cross-member and rear quarters but are there any other areas that should be checked?

thanks :)
kieran

Rust on the arch, Power steering pipe leak. Nothing major that goes wrong with them.

Dont worry if it rattles on startup, it's the camchain. (No cambelt on them.)

Welcome bud - where abouts in Scotland u from?

The N15's are a good start for ya - all the N15 Almera's engines are solid and if maintained properly will go on for years...

I'm in lanark, kinda central :)

its a n15 i'm looking at, 98 S reg gx, 5door though.

thanks for the help :)

Welcome mate. I used to have a 1.4L.Fantastic car really and couldn't complain except for the lack of Gti power :P
I had 90,000 on mine when my gearbox bearings went and needed a new clutch. It was a great car :D

Good luck on your search, just make sure you take it for a good spin before you buy it

HI

dead reliable cars, check the condition of the sump and the sills near the back of the car
