Hey!

Hey, owned my Nissan GTi some 2 months now only problem I had was one of the belts snapped. After garage fitted new one all was fine, but the belt is making squeaking noise now has the belt been overstretched?

One last question, my service history doesn't state a gearbox oil change now on 95,000 miles im guessing its been done but as to when who knows. Is it easy to change the fluid?

Regards Mark

As far as I am aware, the M1, M2 and M3 services (the ones that Nissan issue under warranty) don't have gearbox oil change. Although they will check the gearbox if there is a fault, and possibly trace it to the oil, I don't think so.

I can double check at work on Monday if Nissan do that.

Here is a 2010 service guide they have issued. I doubt much has changed but it suggests to me that you need to advise the dealer to change it if you use your vehicle for anything other than normal driving. Page 10 has the information about transmission.

the filler plug is on the front of the box and the drain plug is underneath, use a 1/2 inch socket wrench to undo the drain plug and a square plug to undo the filler, but make sure you get the filler plug out first before you drain the oil incase you cant get it back out.

or fill it through the speed sensor at the back of the box
