Hi guys.

I signed up to find out more about Almera's as my younger brother is after one as a first car.

Where is a good place to start where I can find out about every model, the spec and trim level?

Thanks,

Chris :D

There is a meet up of members currently in planning at Gordano Services on the M5 at Bristol. If you want to find out any more then feel free to pop along, get the chance to meet up face to face with some of the members at the same time. Date pencilled in for 24th June.

See this thread for further info: http://www.almeraownersclub.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=17224&page=3
Yeah I'd say thats a great way to decide what you think of the almeras, it was my first car too! Hope to see you there!

Cheers guys. Any idea where I can find info on each of the trim levels?

Hiya,

I checked there before signing up. The info is not that detailed on Parkers. Was hoping some enthusiast would know the in's and out's. Perhaps someone has an original sales brochure they can look through?

Phase 1 GTi's had either a Sunroof or Air Con but not both. However Phase 2 GTi's came with both.

Lesser model almeras i think Air Con was an optional extra and not sure if any of them came as standard!

Hi all, me and my brother picked up his Almera this evening.

It's a '98 "S" 1.4Premium. Factory Fitted Alloys & Spoiler. Colour Coded bumpers. Sony 10CD Changer, Electric Windows, Electric Mirrors, 5 Door, Remote Central Locking, Air Con (although it wasnt cold so I will have to sort this for him). Haggled down to £825 thats with almost 12months MOT and around 3months Tax.

It does need a full service though. What oil is recommended for this engine?

Where is a good place for all of the service items? Partco?

What are Nissan like for part prices? Need a wing mirror glass, probably get one here?

Hmm for wing mirror glass I think Halfords do them readily available and below £10, 10w-40 is the most commonly used oil (It's the one I put in my SRi anyhow), dont forget the fuel, oil, pollen and air filters if you're doing a full service!
Good luck and welcome to the world of almeras!

Do you have any pictures of the car?

The pollen filter is hiding behind a metal bar that`s held on by (I think) 2 screws behind the glovebox.

Thanks guys.

I am pretty handy with a set of spanners so won't have any trouble servicing it. Hayne's manuals are always useful to have too so going to pick one of these up.
