Hi im new here, have bought a Almera GTi 1999 in red about 2 months ago in the uk and brought it home. Always Liked them and nissan in general as i served my time as a mechanic with nissan for 6 years.
Believe it or not this car is probably a big come down too what i was used too people would think but its a nice performance car at small money as before this iv always had big money cars. I just sold my pride and joy which was my S15 Spec R 1999 in pearl white before i bought the almera reason it had too go is that im buying a house so some thing had too go so i bought the almera as a cheap run arond.
iv always had sports cars ie R34GTT/MR2 TURBO/STARLET TURBO/ITR DC2/ AND MY LAST THE S15.
Im currently a member with the s15 owners club as well.

Didnt mind selling it as the way things are here i was lucky too get rid off it so easy and i had it a year and a half.
 
Thanks for the wellcome. have too say i really do like the almera its fairly clean too and no rust. just need too get a biggish dent sorted in boot door and also have a slight oil leak somewhere is there anywhere common they leak oil oil apart from the filter which i cheaked and is tight. its wet around the front and rear of the sump but not that bad ether. have more experience with the sr20det but i know there bassically the same.also i ordered the gti badge for the boot as it was nicked and the one that came from nissan was the 2.0 GTI THIN badge does anyone have the part number for the normall one? or is this one i got replaced the common gti plastic one.:confused:
 
NAH doesnt bother me too much that its gone iv had them all and also i was that obsessed over it i only drove it once a week and got a full respray 9 months ago because there was a few stone chips on the bonnet so it was nearly a weight off me too not have too worry about it anymore.
Anyone have any info on the rear Gti badge part number and also whats the common oil leak if there is one there is 92k on the clock.
 
Could possibly be just the sump pan, if it is, drain the oil, undo the pan, clean the edges and whack some instant gasket stuff on there. Mine needs doing, could also be the rocker cover gasket around the distributor?
Sorry dont have the part number for the GTi badge but I have heard of someone ordering one only to get the sticker version. If anyones breaking a mera they should have one :) Or try ebay?
