Hi guys

New here, owned my N16 Almera 1.8 for about 10 months now, loving it, had a smoking problem, replaced PCV still smoking, installed temp oil catch tank, only to find out the previous guy who worked on the car didn't install gasket where the oil baffle and block meets up to the PCV. Managed to fix it, but will have to buy a new cam cover from Nissan because the spark plug tube seals are finished and as I have read that it is not replaceable without some customizing.

But nevertheless I am loving my car, fitted a 4-2-1 branch and removed catalytic converter, 50-57mm exhaust system, Walbro 255lph fuelpump and currently working on a custom induction, currently only replaced oem air box with a cone filter, still using standard intake pipe to TB, thinking about shifting my battery to make an enclosed area for my induction.

Really looking at increasing my knowledge on this model vehicle as I have previously owned an N14 Sentra 1.6, GA16DNE.

also you must change this rubber insulation

the small insulation on to orange think, this protect the room of camshafts from the oil high temperature and send it down to the oil tank.

I was told by Nissan it includes all gaskets. Just silly that I can't replace the spark plug tube seals seperately.

My cam cover looks a bit different to yours, its all black including that orange thing and can't be removed unfortunately.

Should mention I have the phase 1 N16, there was a limited amount of the hatchbacks imported from Britain to South Africa

This is how my cam cover looks, hadn't cleaned it yet.

This is what my spark plug tube seals looked like, it was hard and brittle and Nissan does not sell them separately

Spark plug tubes was full of oil, this is after I tried cleaning some of it, 1 & 4 was flooded

Also does anyone know what grey stuff is in this sensor and if it is safe to have this paste in it ? (Don't know what sensor this is) It's under the exhaust cam sprocket
