Hi, new member, need opinion

Hi guys, ive been a follower of this forum for a while but have never posted before.

I would like your opinion, Sadly my current phase 2 N15 is approaching the end of it's life with 105k miles done and thanks to the recent snow and salt on the roads, the rust at the rear is too big of a job to do for what the car is worth.
I have been looking around for other almeras, mainly N16'S but to no luck however another N15 that is for sale has been brought to my attention

Almera SI 1.4 (N15)
P Reg
5 dr
25 000 on the clock
kept in a garage
one old lady owner
slight scuff on the front bumper
£500

I should be having a look at the car soon but what do you guys think?

Thats very cheap for such a low mileage! Sounds good so far.

105k though? Is that it? hehehe

I know 105k is not that much but things are going wrong with it and i have almost no money to get it fixed, so the sensible thing i think would be to find another car that will last me a bit longer.

Well apart from the rust around the rear arches, the left rear wheel has been making a rubbing sound under braking and on right turns which am guessing is the bearing. I had this problem checked out at a garage but when i got the car back, they claimed it was just dirt from the snow, they cleaned it but the noise and vibration was worse. this problem has also made the tracking all messed up. The power steering is heavey on right turns, gear changes are becoming a challenge and the the car is feeling very underpowered. The it has been faultless up untill aboout 104k and then all of a sudden the cars just falling apart.

Thats really unfortunate mate, i don't own an almera but i no they are reliable. This 1.4 5 door sounds like a minter lol. Your call at the end of the day bud:)

Hi, just been to check out the si, turns out it's only got just shy of 20k on the clock, it's had new exhaust, new battery and new tyres. The Body work is a lot more scratched then i thought and there is some rusting starting to develop on the rear arches but its not too bad, Ive agreed to trade my current esteem which is becoming very unfit for the roads, which means am paying 250 for the si. has it been driven all its life or parked up? i wouldnt expect much rust and scrathes on a car which has only done 20k
maybe check MOT history

its just too good to be true

Well the story behind the car is that it belonged to an old lady who has just been put into a home she only used the car to go to the shops and kept it in a garage when not used. The reason for the scratches is because of her age she became a bit careless so the majority of the scratches are from her pulling out of the garage. J_S

Good buy i guess.

that mileage is so low!! sure to last for a long time yet, just take car of it and i would recommend undersealing it so rust doesnt bite you on the bum again.

bargain there!
