Hi! Newbie question re boot strut

Hi guys, hopefully taking a look at a GTi tonight but to save me a trip has anyone got a photo of their GTi with the boot open + seats down?

I'd like to be able to fit my bike in the back (could do it in my old Polo) so need to know if the boot strut is going to make this impossible?

Thanks

Gareth

I think it's possible to put a bike in with the seats down, the strut brace is fortunately in a place where you can hook the front wheel over it.

If it turns out you can't, it's only held in with 4 bolts, and it's debatable whether it actually really does anything.

Ah cool, think I'll defo have a look!

Got £500 for my 328i (non runner after headgasket went - £900 to fix  ) so looking for something cheap and quick, the more I look the more the Almera fits the bill!

I have put my bike in the back of mine a couple of times. I had to remove the bike's front wheel to make it fit a bit easier, can be awkward otherwise.

Trying to go over the brace meant the handle bars got too close to the headlining for my comfort.

i'm able to get my mountain bike in the back of mine with ease, even with a strut brace.

strut brace actually helps cause you can fit two bikes, one over and one under

without the brace you can get three in no problem
