This is my first time on a forum, but as I have an Almera, i thought why not, i also have a couple of issues and wonder if anybody has the same issue/issues.

1) when i am parking or turning at slow speeds i get a clonking noise that sounds like it's coming from the steering column but I'm not sure

2) recently the exhaust has been getting louder and louder.

I have a 54 reg 1.5 5dr SE

any help or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

Simple fixes for a garage these. Exhaust is clearly leaking exhaust gas before the tail exit or the baffles have worn out.

The clunk is likely to be a stiff top mount bearing but as i said, get it to your local independent garage.
