Hello everyone,
I've just logged in for my first time. My almera has been with me for 2 months now, and till now it has been great.

Its my first car (i'm 18), a used 1.5 petrol, 16v, it had 16,500mls on it since bought new in 2000, although i'm a bit curious why it should have been sold. Hope it will be reliable, and that i will be able to mod it a bit.

By d way, almost forgot, I'm Maltese, that tiny island south of Sicily. I'm first year engineering at university, also mad on any other transport machine, especially aircraft!

Any tips for first time users?
 
Bit of both. Hasn't too much performance, but great looks i think. Just k&n induction kit, roof spoiler (carzone's), and 16"s, for now then we'll see.

It isn't easy to mod the 1.5l is it?

not sure about availability of mods/ parts for the 1.5, not started on my GTi yet... maybe some of the other guys could give more advice with this... good luck:)

I've been to Malta - Its a very nice country.

Also studied engineering (mechanical) at uni too - very tough, good luck! :)
 
I was in Malta The 1st week on October Stayed at Buggiba Its a nice plave hopefully going back next year Where about you from? I kept seeing thst really nice Heavily modded Toyota Starlet Glanza V 1.3 Turbo It was white and had a massive front mount intercooler. The sticker on his boot was cool! ""Suck My Boost!!"" lol

The Mere 1.5 are quite good ive driven one and i liked it!

I see that starlet almost every day, i live close to b'gibba! U often see them around.

Thanks mate I am going to collect it next week some time :) need to sort out the road tax i put a deposit on it so its virtually mine :)

hello,i'm here also new just as you but i'v got my N 16 for 5 years and
haven't got any problems with it.it's just a little difficult to find the right
tuning parts.i have an K&N air intake,a sport exhaust and removed the middle
mufller.the sound is great and it seems that he's going a lot faster because of it.
 
Is it the standard k&n for the almera, the one that takes air from within the engine bay? I'd like a proper cold air intake, but dont know how 2 do?

What's your engine?
