Hi

Hello everyone. Glad other people are interested in these rare cars. Just signed up and thought I would try and show you what I can do. Ain't done too much modding as I'm still at uni, but I have phased 2 everything apart from the grill and put a small install in, oh n alloys n pipercross induction kit.

Install is okay, but it's a little on the heavy side, and it eats batteries, even the heavy duty leisure batteries of 120amps. The car's interior is currently stripped at the moment as I have to go up to the lake district every week.

Who needs nething more then 2 front seat n belts, door cards and a dash ey?

Yeah I seen the car before on that Carfdomain thing. The Install is pretty OTT. but i bet you could not hear F@k all after u come out of the car lol. any way welcome to the forum :)

Small install? I wonder what your idea of a big install is?
My word... I've heard of backup speakers but I think you have the lions share there! How can you tell if one of those speakers go boom? Nevertheless, whatever takes your fancy.
Welcome to the club.

lol your right, but i cant hear a thing over my exhaust now! like your work though, not really into ICE and stuff, but thats a great effort you've put into the car! well done!

well people won't have any problem hearing you coming along the road!
I can see why it eats batteries!
Looks ace anyways

Nr. Northwich in Cheshire, but currently I am up at Lancaster University, I had a daft moment and signed on for another year. D'oh

Technically there are 26 speakers if you include the component speakers separately. Did have four more in the parcel shelf above the two 15inch subs, but if you haven't guessed they didn't last long. Somet to do with compression waves, hence the modified rear 1/4 panels.

As for identifying blown speakers, you turn the volume up and see if the cone is vibrating or not, usually a loose connection somewhere.

 pardon, sorry didn't catch that could you speak up please.

db rating, well the head unit has 30 volume settings, and on setting 4 with all the amps on full gain and the vibe delta boxs on maximum voltage it goes off the scale on a 160dm meter.

What happens if you turn it up past half you ask? well

1. The battery fries itself.
2. The headlights and windscreen wipers stop.
3. The engine dies.
4. Your body hurts from the volume.
5. You sh*t yourself because you think you have done some serious damage to the car.
6. Your ears ring for bout 2 hours afterward.
7. Everyone laughs at you because you did it pulling out of your local pub car park in front of your mates. :(

Lancaster Uni? I was driving up the A6 a couple of weeks ago and saw a Black Phase1 GTI I am sure it was yours!!!

Not too keen on the Install but hey nice motor!!!

It probably was me if it was on the A6 stretch between Garstang and Lancaster, other then that its the M6 all the way. I remember seeing a red N15 going the other way but I think I was going a little too fast to see which derivative.
