girlfriends currently in Hong Kong and i was thinking of asking her to bring back one of these for me, i know they're available on the bay but its prob cheaper if i get her to get them for me, as it will get rid of postage and packing etc..
just a few q's:

1. any one got them/had experience with them?

2. are they worth it?

3. what bulbs are they? h4's or h7's for the meras?

4. what kind of rating should i get 8000k? 10000k?

5. what colour? blue, purple? i dont wana get white..

6. what price should i expect to pay!?

heres a link to them..

any comments welcome lads!!! let me know cause i've to make a decision on these very soon!

Yes they are worth it.
N15 uses H4
Don't go higher than 6,000k, it gives you white with a hint of blue beam.
Any higher will provide poorer light with strong blue/purple colour.

i see... only thing is, i wouldnt mind having a stronger blue/purple light, i mean, its the affect i want, dont want to get a kit and stick it in to find that its only a very small hint of blue/purple that comes out, you know that way!?
any other suggestions or comments?

Colour Temp (K):----Colour Description:
5000K:--------------------White lights with tinges of yellow.
6000K:--------------------PURE WHITE LIGHT.
8000K:--------------------White lights with tinges of blue.
10000K:------------------White lights with tinges of green.
12000K:------------------Bluish-purplish light

If you want ones that give a purplish or blue effect, you will have to go higher as you can see from the chart, but they won't give out good light as say a 6-6500k and the higher grade ones have also been known to make it hard on your eyes when driving at night! There is a guy down near me that has ones well over 12000k and they are totally purple, looks cool but as for lighting the road i don't think they do!

nice one man, what would you recommend like? i'd rather have some kind of colour in the light and not have it just pure white, i've seen a few civics round my way with the purple/blue hid's and have to admit they look sweet!! how bout somewhere in the range of 9000k? what would go for?

I'd go for something between 6000-8000. Any higher and you are loosing the advantages of HIDs.

They can be a bit of a hastle to fit and use, HIDs are more prone to over heating and breaking.

yeah.. girl friend got a quote and its coming in at between 150 - 250 euros depending on quality.. not bad, imo!!

probably going to go for 8000k! thats what your man told her was the most popular!!! probably going to go for blue but duno, i've seen the purple on a few civics and they look well sweet!!

That's completely untrue.
HID produces LESS heat than a typical 50/55w halogen bulb.
You should only worry about cheap branded HID kits where the ballast have short life span.

I have 6000k i think on my car piaa ones, savage light out of them and they are very noticable when you see them cause there just pure white, looks well against the yellowish spots.

i've seen your and have to admit they look sweet, but i'm after the tinted look, so will prob give her the go ahead to get the 8000k ones!!!

as for the reliability of hid as mentioned above, their ment to last the lifetime of the car so in a way, they are more reliable than the halogens, however, if the ballasts go or if one of the xenons blow, its a hefty replacement bill so i suppose you should pay for a good quality product!

I was wondering where can u get these HID conversion kits from

just did a seach on Piaa and it cost something like 800 quid.

Edit: I just did a search on ebay and there are kits about 150 - 200. they look ok but how long will the bulbs actually last ?

they SHOULD last forever.. but i'd say if they were installed incorrectly, i.e touching the lense etc etc... it could shorten their life span, as i've said before, replacement bulbs for these kits can cost up to 100 pound!!!

The word "Should" is very powerful

I known my dad has owned a Y plated citeron C5 and the HID bulb has blown on it. im sure on the citeron C5 they came standard and they were never touched after it came out of the manufacture

i suppose your right, but i'll probably be buying the most expensive set over there anyway.. just to be sure that they wont blow like in your dads citreon, but tbh citreon are pretty unreliable anyway arent they!? :P only joking :D

hey dub_almera you got any pics of the hid lights?
8000k thats the bluey colour right?

yea.. i'll take some tomorrow or maybe the day after, working the next few nights so might not get a chance but i'll have them up by the end of the week..
the colour is kinda... more white than blue to put it, but the shade of blue is still noticeable, alot of people recommended only getting the 8000k's because the higher the rating, the less visability you get..
i'll get some pics up soon!!

just thought i'd post a few pics of the finished product, i'll get some night pics when i get the chance,

** sorry bout the bad quality, was taken on my cam phone.
