a gti and sri.
I need to know how i can tell the diffrence

The badge is the easiest difference on the outside along with a bodykit (front and rear splitters and side skirts) which is on most but not all GTi's. The GTi had 2.0 engine while SRi has 1.6. If standard then different alloy wheels (GTi have 5 spoke wheels) while SRi's have same as in my pic below and also I think the GTi has a bit more uprated suspension as standard than the SRi.

look at the papers inside the car.
or look on the arse of the car, to spot the GTi or the SRi mark at the right, abowe the rear light.

quite easily,. drive it also, hope ya dont mind me asking but why ask such a weired question

It's his first post so probably just wanting to know the difference between them really.

thats like asking whats the diff between a vtr and vts, pretty obvious same car but diff performance, was just curious dont mind me im bored!!

Reason im asking is,i've just bought a gti, but it doesnt feel like 150bhp.It's got the white dashbord,i think only the gti's have these dash bords

Perhaps it is in need of a good service if it hasn't had one for a while. Being picky but I think it is more like 140bhp as standard if i remember right ;). GTi does have white dash board so probably is one unless the previous owner got their hands on some white dials and replaced them.

The power is quite high up in the rev range compared to my old car, I thought mine was down on power the first couple of times I drove it, you soon get used to it.

yeh you have to drive it at high revs for performance 2nd, 3rd and 4th after 5k are fun. 1st just spins if you nail it and 5th is just for cruising at speed.

easy differance between a GTi and SRi are the black sorrounds on the front lights and indicators the white dials and the Sr20 under the bonnet ;)

best way to tell is look at the engine.

The SR20 is quite distinguishable from the GA14/16's (its bigger!)

Look into your engine bay on the right hand side of the 'front' of the engine, underneath the dizzy. It should say "SR20" then the engine code.

maybe your expecting to much, expecting because its got over 40bhp than ur used to it should FLY!!!

Ive now called nissan and they have confirmed it is a gti.
Does anyone no how to boost them up.(i dont want to spend to much toh)

isnt that the lump from a primera?

this is a almera gti stanard engine bay

depends what you want to do and how much money you have to spend. best bang for buck is NOS but i dont like it, then turbo and then less power increasing and most exspensive to get good figures is N/a tunning but the best way :P
