how to replace gti wiper linkage

hi there
my wiper motor is working ( it makes a whirring noise t least) but my wipers have stopped. They move freely by hand, so i suspect the linkage is busted. How do I access them for replacement?

Also will the linkage from an N16 fit an N15?
 
Have you checked the nuts on the wiper arms haven't worked loose?
The N15 doesn't have le frog parts, so the N16 linkage will not fit. They're under the scuttle panel.
 
How to change Wiper Motor.....
First thing you need to do is remove your engine....
Then working from the back of your car.... get an angle grinder and start slicing the car from the bottom of the wheel well all the way to where the brace under the engine bolts on.....
Remove your rear fog light bulbs....
Open your doors.. and throw some rope round through the top of the doors and out of the sun roof (If you don't have a sun roof you wont be able to change your windscreen wiper motor..... :)
Once you have looped the rope... tie both ropes to different torque vehicles.... (tractors are ideal)
Use the vehicles to pull your car into 2 parts.... left and right...
At this point you should be able to climb into the engine bay on the drivers side of the car...
Remove the scuttle panel with a hammer... and either fix/affix or replace your wiper arms, or fix/replace your wiper motor...

In all honesty... I think there are just some little round plugs on the scuttle panel infront of the windscreen... prise these out with a really small flat head screwdriver.. and remove the panel... you should be able to see everything then, and reattach the wiper linkage if possible.. (they just pop on and off a ball joint iirc) or decide if it needs replacing
