Idle/Choke issue

Hi guys, somethings developed with my car recently after adding my induction kit and decat, it seems to idle a lot higher, about 850/900 - 1500rpm.

I tried adjusting the base idle, and it didn't seem to respond very much to it. I have noticed that sometimes the idle will drop down to about 650/700 but then the engine will bring it back up, like the choke is cutting in?

Any ideas?

sounds like either mass air flow sensor or idle control valve if ur tryin to adjust your idle and its not responding then its the idle valve but try cleanin the mafs due to the air filter havin oil on it

MAF is clean as it's ever been, cleaned that a while ago.

Simcard, according to my vacuum gauge my intake vacuum hasn't changed.

I did have a look at that actually but on the 1.6 engine there is no physical way to get to the screws to adjust the TPS postition.

If the idle adjustment screw didnt make any difference to the idle speed, Remove the Air control valve and blast some carb cleaner thorugh it.

Clockwise lowers the idle speed.
Anti Clockwise increases it.

Massive day 2 edit:

Ok changed the HT leads and spark plugs, the base idle screw DOES repond but here's how it is...

It seems as though it can quite happily idle at 750rpm but seems to ocassionally misfire, causing the revs to dip then rise back up.
