ignition problem....

turn the key to start the car and it just makes a loud ticking noise. but after a good few attempts it can just manage to start. could this be the starter motor?

Yeah good chance it could be. Or a poor battery connection.

hmmm just spoke to kingy, who had the car before me and he says the starter motor has been replaced bout 6 month ago. surely it hasn't gone again.

Check battery voltage amd connections. Including the earth strap from the engine.

had this problem when i switched engines found out to be negative from engine to battery terminal shorting on the cable had to re wire the ground to sort it (by the way this was on an n15 maybe the same thing or not)

definatly a starter problem id say. could it off been a new starter from the scrappies

found out it was the negative wire had corroded away were connected on the gearbox
