Inconsiderate road hog/user rant

Right last night driving from Southampton to Exeter. Got to just near Poole and caught up with this:

Bastard great big house thing on a lorry, well turned out there were 2 of them in convoy.

Anyway as you can see the lorry itself is practically the entire width of one lane of a single carriageway road with the house sticking out 2-3 feet further each side. These two were driving along with no escort at about 40-60 (at one point doing 65!!) literally forcing cars into the gutter coming the other way. Anytime anything big came along like another lorry both had to stop and edge past each other.

So couldn't get past it because when traffic wasn't coming the other way these things sat with the wheels well over the centre line. Crawled all the way to the Dorchester road and the Shell garage and had to bail to fill up with petrol. By that stage a huge queue had built behind me all itching to get past.

So pulled out of the petrol station, went along the dual carriageway only to catch up with them again as it went back to 1 lane! Arrrrrrgh!!! They must have gunned it along the dual carriageway.

So we crawled all along the single carriageway road to the dual carriageway that approaches Bridport. As we get to the dual carriageway I passed the second lorry about to overtake the first as it goes up that really steep hill and he swings out and overtakes a van!!! Un-fuckingbelievable.

Gave him a honk and shake of fist as I eventually do get past him and he has the cheek to honk back.

I was actually stunned by the level of disregard for all other road users demonstrated by these 2 drivers. Sure everyone has a job to do and they're being paid to drive these two fricking houses to a campsite or some crap but did they not need escorts for oversize loads of this size? I thought there were rules about what could be driven and what can't. And with such big and potentially dangerous loads at those speeds it was nothing short of reckless. I had thought of phoning the Police but would probably have had an on the spot fine for using a mobile while driving (oh the irony :roll: ).

Grrr tossers.
 
fookin' eejits! :eek: I would have taken both their registrations and reported them to the police, or at least asked the police to give me the company name so I could make a formal complaint.

I hate massive lorries that think they own the road, the majority of lorry drivers are considerate and don't pull out without indicating really early or waiting to be flashed out, but you always get the ones who bully cars out of the way. I've lost count of the number of times I've seen a mahoosive wagon pull out into the outside lane of a motorway...there's never a copper around when you need one :roll:
 
dangerous and stupid imo, no way they should be driving something that wide without an escort to warn people surely? if a truck had clipped that when going passed it somebody could have easily been killed.

truck drivers just piss me off in general, as my driving instructor used to say, we use mirror signal manouvre, truckers use manouvre signal mirror, never realised how true that was until the first time i went on the motorway. in something that size nobody is going to argue with you, its amazing how few people actually get seriously angry with them, if someone did it in a car people would be fuming but with truckers its almost accepted.
 
Fucking pikeys, they'll do anything to get in the way of the tax payer. Teach your childeren maths and english you wankers.

i had nearly had a crash in volving one of these mofo's.

on the way up to alton towers , made a wee mistake comin off the round-a-bout so ended up coming on to the M1 in the slow lane ..any way crawling along be hind one of these and some stupid twat of a foreigner in a fcuking huge articulated lorry obvious ly dint see this wide load comin on so he sweaved right into the fast lane and then nearyl went itno the side of this thing,, trailer just missed me and he ended up nearly taking out 5 cars and 1 huge lorry! even more he was doin like 70mph and he was on the phone!

i actually thought that i would seee people die! :feint:
 
I got stuck behind two of these on the A1 last week.

Because the were slightly overhanging the outside lane there was a van with orange lights blocking that lane too. 15mph on the main easterly exit from Edinburgh during rush-hour. I wonder what genius came up with that idea. I could detour but a lot of people heading east couldn't - must have been a nightmare for them. No police in sight, obviously.

There are regular tail-backs on the A1 in evening rush-hour due to tractors too. If you're not allowed a moped on the motorway because it's too slow then how the hell do they get away with huge things travelling at a snail's pace?
