Interior Dash Lights and Tail Lights out of action!?!!?

hey lads,
just a quick one for ya's, my mates vzr has got a little bit of a problem, the dash lights and the tail lights have suddenly stopped working, we've checked all the fuses in the fuse box below the steering wheel and also the fuses in the engine bay.. any ideas?
we've changed the tail lights aswell and still no joy!?

any help would be greatly appreciated!!
thanks in advance!

It's the
"rear" fuse in the engie room witch has broken!

we checked, its the ten amp one yeah? we changed the fuse but still no joy,
he did however stick in a new alpine head unit in, connected it, but it didnt work, so he ran a straight wire from the battery to the headunit, however, the headunit has stopped working tonight after we were fiddling around with the fuses..

any other ideas?

when my rear lights + dash lights disapeared it was that fuse who got broken. 15a.

i have no clue what so ever on anything else.

If all fuses are intact then the light stalk control may be broken. Meaning that the contact points inside the stalk are not telling the dash and rear to turn on?

but doesnt the same stalk also control the headlights at the front too?

do they even work or are they on the list of non working items?

id of thought it would be a fuse/relay but you say they've been checked, maybe check the earths and stalk (as mentioned above)?

things that are not working are:
rear tail lights (brake lights and indicators are working though)
interior dash lights including heater controls and instrument panel(speedo, rev meter, petrol indicator and temp)
interior light IS working as is cigarette lighter...

i doubt its the stalk, i think it must be a fuse some where, but we've pretty much checked everywhere and theres none blown, it might be because of the new alpine h/u that he put in, any other fuses we should check!?!?
thanks lads

Must be a fuse. Check the bottom left one in the cabin fuse box.

have checked them all rowdy,
its a pain in the ass, cause the cover is written in japanese so you dont know what fuse is for what lol!
any other fuses i should check!?

headunit on mine stopped working. this was due to the earth wire coming loose. i run in a separate earth line to the head unit and this cured it. might be of help.

Its a tough one Will, i reckon you should drink a bottle of teachers whiskey go and start a fight with some tramps...
......or start pulling fuses till ya find the right one..if ya do it systematically it should be ok...personally i wouldnt bother an auto elec will slove it in 15 minutes while you would waste hours p!ssing about in the cold not getting anywhere when you could of been fist fighting tramps..waste of everyones time..including the tramps

had just the same problem. then one of the bulbs in the heater panel was broken.
but the fuse is in the fusebox besides the battery. (10 or 15a) :)

just to update this, it seemed to be an earthing and headunit problem, solved now, replaced the head unit and changed all the fuses to stronger ones just in case! thanks for the help on this one lads
