Interior light Not working!

Hi Guys,
recently bought a 54 plate Almera 1.8 auto and it's driving lovely. The only problem I have is that the interior light isnt working at all. I dont think its the door switch cause it bleeps if I open the door with the headlights on. I've checked all the fuses and they are good, but if I pull the fitting out and meter at the connector there are no volts. Is there a time delay circuit on these cars? I have the haynes manual and there's no mention of one in the electrical diagrams. If there is one where is it hidden? Any other advice gladly received.

There is a timer linked to the door being opened then closed. But the override setting should give you a signal. I have a slight issue with mine but a whack normally sorts it think it's not earthing properly.
