why is no one answering these questions? surely almost everyone on this site must know what their own car does? please help me i am stuck

Perhaps they don't reply because that picture of you scares them away

I cannot help you until friday because thats when i pick up my N16 sve. but i do remember seeing a manual on ebay a few days ago if that helps

Cheers, Mark

yes i admit its a scary picture

I have my own modus operandi, If you know what the picture is you will understand.

It would be great if you could let me know what the computer info does once you get yours and have a read through

cheers in anticipation !!!!!

You only joined today and made 3 posts expecting replies straight away .
We all know what are cars do and how they work etc... but you might have one model which some of us don't know a lot about especially if its the 2003 Almera cause the majority of owners have N15 models. :D
Surely you can go to a dealers and order a manual and find out what the radio code is etc.. if possible.
We all try to be helpful, so check back here over the next couple days and there might be a response to help you out mate.

what i want to know

When you press the information button, it lists through various figures, one is mpg I assume to be miles per gallon, but the rest i dont understand, there is a time of some sort and possibly a trip mileage and little symnols like clocks and letters eon etc, i need to know what it all means.

The guys in here are usually only too pleased to pass on information...if they have the information... if they dont, how can they advise you??... In that instance it would seem you have to get off your butt and nip to the local Nissan dealer for the info... they are usually only too happy to help!
Then when you have done that...you will have the info to share with us...You scratch our backs, we scratch yours.... you get impatient waiting for a reply, we ignore you or send silly messages like this to you..

In short... if you aren't getting the info from here.... do a bit of leg work yourself... you bought the car afterall

thanks guys you are all so helpfull

 Don't worry I normally get banned from forums after a day or so, I thought I was doing well here.... I normally start a rant about insular communities of obsesive people or some such nonsense and then its just a matter of time

First off, Welcome.

With regards to the screen...

It tells you.....

  • Average fuel consumpion over time travelling
  • Total Time Driving
  • Average Speed over time travelling
  • Current fuel consumption
  • When you next service is due

That's just off the top of my head, i'm sure there is a few others.

With regards to the CD Player....

I don't think it is coded (but may be wrong).

If you need to know anything else, either reply or PM me and i try to help you out, but as said before in this thread, go back to your dealer and get them to order a manul for you at their cost.

Hi, i just got a service manual on cd off ebay (ripped off the original i guess as the quality of the .pdf's are excellent). Probably could have downloaded it for free if i had looked hard enough but i thought sod it as it was only about £3.

Anyway, i prefer this to the manual as the diagrams and descriptions are more logical than in the book. Plus it tells you how to take the car to bits should you ever want to do that! This can be useful should you want to change the door speakers as the N16's ain't like normal cars with removable speaker grills - you have to take the whole sodding panel off

Hope that helps, Mark

If the radio has an code (you'll find out if you ever have to disconnect your battery) and you don't have it, Nissan should have a record of it so give them a ring or nip to your nearest dealer with proof you own the car and they should just give it to you. Needed a code for a Renault radio last year and just took the V5 form and they were more than happy to look it up and give it to me so can't see Nissan being any different.

Thanks guys!

Excelent, this is what i wanted to hear. My battery needed changed and the guy at the garage did it with the engine running just in case there was a radio code!

Also RICK, the bit on the information screen for next service, how is that represented? Is it a mileage that goes downwards?

Thanks again

niall happy now

You put in when your service is due (ie 12000, 24000 for me).

I've not had my first service yet but i assume it pops a reminder up on the screen, just like when you are low on fuel.
