Just Fitted Stainlees Steel Cat Back Exhaust

Hi guys ive just fitted my exhaust and to be honest i think its far too loud! If you knew what kurts sounded like than i'm sure mines louder it looks really good but dont know wht i canb do to quiet it down any ideas?

An exhaust bung would quieten things but also rob you of a few horses - maybe 5-7 bhp - but a cheap fix. Alternatively you have some baffling put into the back box, but it wouldn't be as cheap unless 'you know a man who can'.

You're better off just selling/swapping it for a quieter one.

Fit a middle silencer box, or get a larger rear silencer.

Baffle the backbox would be my advice.

I know of someone who has one of those exhaust controller things (the one that goes in the pipe, not the end) on his toyota chaser. It's an incredible bit of kit like. monies tho.

Ha, yeh mine was ridiculous....I fitted a bolt in bung that I got from a mate as I was miles off the 105db track limit about 114db, and It brought it down to 97db but made it slower and raspy but atleast I still have my hearing.

Pretty low tech but cheap, and easy to attach/remove.

I just need something to reduce the noise level for motorway trips and when I use my car for work.

Unfortunately they don't have 4.5" in stock, and I would need two of them because of my ridiculous exhaust... :roll:

^^Mine is exactly the same as them second ones, worked a treat for noise levels but sucks power and sound gay as fuck from outside the car..So im changing the backbox for a quieter one that won't rape power.

Bugger, that sounds like somebody farting into a megaphone. Think I'll have to go the expensive option and replace the backbox.
