I just got a 1998 s reg gti in green as my mate wrote off my pride and joy which was a mazda 323. I thought it was time for some thing quicker and found a stunning green gti for sale.
The guy that i brought it off was 43 and scared to go over 80mph he has owned it from almost new and it has only done 77000 miles it has a a few little problems but nothing major like the alarm is playing up and there are a few scrapes here and there. the only real problem is the clutch is stiff which i think is the cable so no big thing all in all not bad for £1450.
i have had it for almost a week now and already am getting carried away.i have a set of 17" alloys in the spray bay being costomised a set of 40mm PI lowering springs on the way and i have my eye on a tasty HKS exhaust. but i would love to free her up a bit get a bitmore power through the wheels.
Just to make you laugh i lent my mate my car when i was on holiday skiing and came backe to find out it resembled a acordian.........sulk...........
If anyone knows of where i can get some cheap performance parts or anything that would be awsome to know thanks

no mate not at all i live in ash near aldershot. i work for the Raf at odiham so not much better but the least said about work the better.
 
i used to be based near there in bordon

yeah ihavea few but i have not put them on the cpu yet but when i do i will post a couple but i am still waiting on the wheels and springs. can not wait

sounds familiar but I was the plum that borrowed a mates Elise and nearly wrote it off on the Shepherd and Flock in Farnham - oops! :O

welcome :).

have a look at that clutch cable soon. Same hapened on my N15 Si. pedal went stiff, month later the cable went on me, luckily just down the road from home.

I spun my 323 4 times on the dual carriage way just after the shepard and flock. nasty little road in the wet.

i am having the clutch sorted in a week or two when the springs arrive i feel like im forever replacing clutchs on differant cars.

Happenin' pplz

Just got myself a 1.5i 16v beast!! Ok it's only an E model but it's gonna be anything but base when i'm done! Just gonna improve on it more than anything...

Still shifts in it's stock state but could be WELL better. I got a K&N, Strut Brace and Lowering Springs on the way so hope it looks the bomb!!

Also Fox 3 Evo Alloys are coming at some point tomorrow!!

Well i'm kinda 50/50 about styling the exterior (i.e. bodykits) but i do want a spoiler... I'm trying to make it performance orientated more than anything else - got custom made drilled & slotted brake discs just need to find brake pads and i'll be fine for now...

Nothing much!!! LoL

U got a N15 aye?

yeah it is a n15 phase 1 without the kit. i want the preformace to but i also lug around a big system in the boot and im also vein so i want it all pretty to just greedy i guess im still to chose a path
 
Welcome to the forum mate, :) quick answer to get instant power at a low price is to fit N20 or Nitrous if ya like :D 50bhp for under 700 quid fittted too! Otherwise its the usually headwork/cams/header/fuel computer or Chip/zorts and serious piston work to higher the compression. But expect big bills for the other than N20! :eek:
 
hi thanks thats cool. i have a few reservations about nos as a mate went throught 2 life time clutches on a cleo v6.
how do i know if my is a n15 or a n16 and a phase 1 or 2 i think it is a n15 phase 1

It's an N15 if it's a GTI.

N16 is the newer more bubble(for lack of a better word) shaped model.

Note the different body kits, black pillars and bump strips on phase 2.
Rear lights also look much different. Head lights are different too. Phase 2 has white dials on the dash. Phase two has a bee sting aerial on roof too!

brillant thanks for that mine is a phase one just like the green one in the link minus the bodykit. when is everyone meeting up and where im in the south
