leaky boot

first up i am an utter novice so apologies for my ignorance.

i have a second hand 2003 1.5 almera saloon.

ive discovered when it rains water collects in the boot behind the right wheel arch.

ive pulled out much of the coverings in the boot to find the leak but still have no idea where the water is getting in.

do any of you guys have any hints on likely places where water could get in?

water leaks are a complete bstard to find at the best of times. the main things to check are the boot seal and the rear lights. With it being a saloon i suppose the places that water could get in are reduced as there are no quater windows etc to think about.

Try, if you can, getting someone to sit inside the car with the boot shut (go in form the rear seats), whilst someone else pours water over the rear end of the car, with a hose or something. usually the best way to find a leak.
