was in dereham ,norfolk today about 10ish,standing at a burger van when i hear a car being thrashed ,to my disapointment i look up to see a red p1 fly past est 60+ mph on a very busy industrial estate ,every body around workmates ect start to give me stick for having a boy racers chav car i try to point out that not all almera drivers are boy racers when we hear it again booted it in 1st,2nd then 3rd before breaking hard for a sharp corner.
do you drive a red p1 p reg with "NISMO" sticker taking up about a 1/3 of your windscreen :eek: ,big alloys,2 twin exit exhaust's and club stickers on rear side windows ,if so have fun while you still have a licence.
i was stood on road in hi-vis works clothing put my hand up but you prob going to quick to notice!! :(
 
Think I`ve seen that one in Norwich before, 3 passengers jumping around like demented monkeys to some Bangin Choons. Classy......... :rolleyes:
 
these kid's with 8 exhaust's give people with a performance exhaust system a bad name. people hear a slightly loud exhaust and think "wot a cock"
 
At the end of the day, were all "boy racers".

Were young lads with fast cars, your gonna get tarnished with the same brush as someone with a 1.0l Corsa with a 5" rage can.

Old people don't know the difference, they won't be saying "aye there's a Almera GTi, it uses the ever so good SR20 which produces good power all through the range, there obvisously not a chav"

ive given up on making my car faster, as its not worth the money, id be better of buying a GTi, saving up for a better car instead. im sure the 1.4 is as fast as the 1.6:D and the 1.6 would have trouble trying to chase a badger bottom. still with an induction kit, decat and 4" backbox its sounds nice.
i think were all guilty of perhaps driving somewhat more stupidly than we should do, just depends whos watching:)
 
1.6 is worth a bit of tuning, ill just be happy when i can beat my mates MG ZR 1.4!!!! still nails me in the SRi, his second goes to like 75!!!
 
Any 1.6 is worth tuning IMO.
Yeah cov, I think its 68mph in 2nd with the K series. lol
My mate has a rover 216 (bubble) with a skimmed head and it makes my 1.4 look quite silly after i top out in 2nd gear. Its a bit of an animal tbh. His just keeps pulling and longer ratios seem to help.
Its a cracking engine in all fairness and im not dissapointed to lose to it.
They come with 105 and 110bhp (1.4 and 1.6) and 10:1 compression as standard! I reckon my mates is pushing nearer 120bhp now with that skimmed head and his other mods. He's only 17 and its his first car. Jammy git.

Still easily have him on the corners though ;)
 
Yeah my mate has a rover 416, tweaked the head on it aswell and skimmed and for the size of the car damn it pulls! loads of torque and with a piperx filter it sounds like a V6! You just gotta look at a k series to see why the power is good, big inlet and exhaut manifold. He commented on how dinky my 16v head was compared to his, down to the angle of the valves though aint it. I kick his arse on teh bends, his 416 is about as stable as a flat bottomed boat he he

should stop spamming the thread really, sorry
