micra gti

If you go for it (you should, it would be rampant, got to be a 5 door) will you buy my fuckin engine, it feels like i am wearing the twatting thing round my neck!

DO IT DO IT DO IT.

it has been done, they fit in (just). There are a few build threads and pictures on the MSC (www.micra.org.uk). Apart from some rewiring required to get the ecu to work with the standard internal loom, you will need to do modify the engine mounting points, gearbox mounting points, custom driveshafts and beef up suspension to support the weight

just got the micra 60 pound non runner bu8t no rust anywhere on it and on having a quick look the has never had any crash damage so looks good

few people have done it, most notably would be davebull but his was 400bhp and turbo'd ;) aka lilbandit youtube it

make sure you give the sills, especially the rear of the sills a good check over and the cross member as these are the known rust points. The sills will rust quicker if you have a sunroof.

If you want the car to last longer and are mechanically minded you should check and replace all the water drainage pipes in the sills as they clog up easily.

Its a fucking lot of work to get an SR20 running well in a micra mate..
If I were you I'd just sport up the Almera a bit more :)
I fear that an SR'd micra would handle like shit, but only Dave Bull or Kristian can confirm this.. As they've both had fast/big engined micras.

Without good mechanical and engineering knowledge I wouldn't even bother. It's not like a C20 Nova where everything is off the shelf.

done a few engine swaps mainly nova's corsa's vauxhall are easy but i know this wont be stright forward but gives me something to do tho the winter and maybe longer depending how well the job goes

Me and a few of my mates from school were messing about with Novas/Astras when we were about 15..
These Jap motors are absolutely nothing like that.

Just consider that an SR20 swap into a micra requires absolutely everything to be a custom job..
Its a fuck load of work..
And I bet if you started the work over this winter it wouldn't be running safely for next winter.. Probably closer to the summer after.
Its more hassle than its worth mate :)
