mk1 - mk2 difference's?

differences are

Front bumper,
ariel
rear plate surround
rear lights
front lights
front indicators
some minor interior differences
bodykit different on GTi's
suspension is slightly different.
 
Stuff like strut braces front and rear, air con and sunroof as standard (think these were both optional extras on other models but can be confirmed), stiffer dampers, different seats + cloth, steering wheel, black dash and door cards etc (think it's an off grey in non gti's but again can be confirmed?), tweeters in the a pillers, white dials on p2, black b pillers (between door and rear window), black headlight surround (p2), black indicator surround (again p2 i think?) CAT1 alarm/immobiliser ...

Biggest technical difference = SR20 :)
 
I'm gonna be real pedantic here and say that mark's are evoloutions of car, ie mrk1 is N15 and mrk2 is N16. Facelifts are phases :D

To confirm:

Air con and sunroof came on some non-gti models, the seats are the same in the SRi, I think the GTi steering wheel came in the Ph2 SRi, the black dash and door cards came in some non-gti models (my GX has the black), Black B pillars came on some non-gti.

which should that be? ph1/ph2?

should it have the sr20 engine in it?

Thats the change over year :rolleyes:

If it has an ariel on the roof above the drivers A pillar, it is a Ph1, if the ariel is just infront of the roof spoiler in the middle, then its a Ph2

All GTi's should have an SR20, unless one of us has been at it :D

ok cheers mate, sorry bit of a newb to the nissan scene. lol.

can you turbo the sr20 with out forging them? as i know thats what comes in the 200sx's,
 
97 wasn't the change over year, 98 was...

a 97 is a phase 1.

turbo... well technically you can without forging it but you wont be able to run much boost. to be honest, i dont think it would need to be forged, just some parts uprated.

cheapest part for turboing a gti is the £16 membership fee for something called the AOC. where a few people have done/doing turbo conversions

seems like hopelessness has been spreadin gospel about aoc, seems a lot of S,hampton members poppin up

welcome to the club, phase one gtis are easy to spot as the rear lights dont look like hotdogs have been stuck across em ;)

yeah but you gotta buy all the other crap... like a turbo? and a manifold?

but yeah why not.

lets be brutal. phase 2 is by far the better looking car...
