Mod-friendly Insurers?

Made some calls today, and a lot of insurers refuse performance mods,
and one that "specialises" in this sort of thing wanted to double my premium :rasp:
Can anyone suggest a decent company please?

A lot of the MSC members tend to have good things to say about Sky Insurance - www.skyinsurance.co.uk - they do like for like insurance on modifications too.

Also many people say don't touch Adrian Flux with a bargepole!

Yeah i've heard that A. Flux will insure mods and replace them if needed, wheras most people will just give you the market value for the stock car itself with no mods.
I've heard that they're cheap but have v. bad service.

HIC seem to be more user freindly than Adrian Flux. Alot of the time the policies are underwritten by Highway Insurance but the customer service from HIC has always been brilliant. I mentioned Im a 205 GTi Drivers Member and got a nice discount, even for insuring the Almera ;)

Adrian Flux have been fine with me so far, insured no problem, folk on end of phone seem knowledgable and helpful and they are cheap as chips (£280 a year fully comp)

Adding mods to my policy has been really easy (and has not cost anything extra yet as none have increased HP).

Of course you only really known when you have to make a claim..

And unfortunately, this is where i've heard all the bad news. My friends Corolla (which got written off) was very modified (£££ ICE, respray, full cream leather seats, alloys, bodykit) and insured for the face value of all the mods, Adrian Flux came back (after about 6 weeks of nothing) and offered a fraction of the value of the modifications, which he refused. I think this is still ongoing and the accident happened in March!

Unfortunately insurance companies always seem to let you down when you need them the most, eg when claiming!

i don't recommend them but try CIS, they didn't give a shit with me and heard were ok for mods, actually stole about £3k out my account when my quote was like £700, then tried to get more money out of me by saying i lied on my policy when was them entering details wrong. wankers (long complicated story)
