MOT FAIL!

ok guys, i need a bit of advice on prices etc, and any other advice would be amazing

Just had MOT done, got 3 fails

1) Nearside rear shock absorber has serious fluid leak - prices? obviously im getting 2 new, had a quote of £87.53 for two, is that good??

2) Exhaust emissions carbon monoxide content at idle excessive - 0.3 pass --> 0.81!!! NICE! haha ... need to source a cat, anyone selling? think i saw one, but cant remember the thread. sucks i dont know any guys in the garage trade so i can "edit" this one :(

3) Rear brakes release unevenly - any thoughts? seized caliper maybe? refurb?

Advisory - offside front tyre worn (new tyres! :( but i knew the gti eats tyres for breakfast)

any comments would be cool guys, got 14days to fix i think

cheers mate ... got a quote on the cat for £82.12 but had a quick search, cant find that thread
would the newcat fit onto my ss exhaust? or do i need to get a whole standard cat-back?!

shocks sound good, but would it be worth getting full coilovers now? im itching to get a full set on, and have the funds, wondering whether it will be worth it, hmmm

just look in the for sale threads... im sure it was one of the 2 selling a cat...

coilovers are great... i have just bought some... cost quite a bit tho...

minimum of £550 new... or look out for some second hand ones.

just found this on E-gay ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-ALMERA-CATALYTIC-CONVERTER-CAT-1-4-1-6-2-0-GTi-/130347950619?cmd=ViewItem&pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e5957e21b#ht_527wt_939
might just go for that :P its cheap but it will get through the mot hopefully, not sure about next year :S

i read there is high flow cat options available, have no idea how to get one

been looking for 2nd hand from Darchitect, but thinks its a no go, might have to bite the bullet and pay full whack, tein, bc or daiyamas, im sure they all have advantages and disadvantages, gonna research a bit more
