Moving to America

Hello again, plans have changed! I had the money and was gonna buy an Almera Gti but now decided to move abroad.

Im hoping to keep in touch on this forum as the car I will be buying aborad will most likely be a Nissan, might even be a 200sx - almera coupe but others are more appealing at the mo, inc. 240sx, altima and maxima's, within my $3000 budget.

Cars over there are much more expensive but fuel insurance and tax are much cheaper.

Have been looking at cars and even though they are no lookers I might see what Maxima's are like, something like this

that maxima is ok. thankfully its manual... i hate the fact that most american cars are auto. could you not buy a nice almera over here and get it shipped over... my mates dad has recently had a 1966 mustang shipped over from the states. Its easily doable...

i think it shares much with the UK Almera but it looks different.

The thing about the Maximas is their very tunable and the 3.0lump has won numerous awards, and it shifts.

get a b13 sentra with a VE in it, then bring it back here and geive it to meeeeeeeeeeh :D

Not a new one, get a pre-2004 version. They look nicer anyway :) Cool I didnt realise the sentra was in that game :)

Not much need for a manual car in the states, the huge distances and straight roads pretty much make them null and void.

I have driven an automatic civic and my mums corolla as well as a few others. I know what you mean about the roads but i hate driving autos, their nice in traffic but even on the motorway i hate the delay of changing gear down when you put your foot down. Just never liked them and find them boring, feel less in control of the car.

EDK, i wonder why you are adivising me to get a b15

Sam that looks really nice :thumb:

I used to have a nice Maxima here in the UK. Very quick with lovely growl despite it being an automatic. The only thing is its weakest point is the gearbox, went through a couple of those and its pretty hard to find here.

However, in the states they are plentiful. Quite a long car mind.

Its fairly big, seeems to have good reviews and plenty of parts.

The engine is the highlight, its suppose to be really nice to drive, in manual getting that big lump to 60 in 7secs plus tunning possibilities.
