my basic install

SXE-1725S 16.5" speakers, direct replacement for the originals, 40W RMS
SWR 1221D 12" sub. 300W RMS
QXT 200 2 channel amp 350W RMS.
TX-300 tweeters going in the front (probably crap but only cost a quid :P)
CDE-9843r

That amp is absolutely fantastic. Got it form www.caraudiodirect.com while they had a sale on and got it for £100 instead of £150. Fantastic thing. built in crossover, each channel powering one of the magnets in the sub, variable high and low frequency reponse ranges, 0-18db bass boost and Wired Remote Control (WRC) allowing you to control the bass level from wherever you hook the dial up to. That amp and sub must have been made for each other.

Not as good as some (most) installs here, but I'm more than happy with it.

Stick with out the Tweeters if i was you

just fitted them now and actually they're pretty damm good. They go well with the standard clarion fronts. Eventually I want to put some type R or type S 5.5" components in there but as it is those toxics aren't bad at all.

just put some Alpine SPS 690A 6x9s in the parcel shelf insteda of the 6 1/2 coaxials. sounds SO much better. there was a certain frequency rance I wasn't hearing at all (like the guitar in the opening to Soundgarden - Black Hole Sun), and tht's sorted. I've got a Maystar QXA250 amp on the way to power them, and some SXS1357 components to replace the standard fronts and those toxic tweters. I can't wait :D:D:D
