My new Grill

Last week when i bought my second GTI, the front grill was very shabby and looked a right mess, so i set about repairing it.
What it looked like when i got the car. I dont know what happened to it but some one made a right balls up of it.

After a few hours of fibreglassing and body filling i got the shape back and it started to look how it should.

A few coats of primer later ...

Now for the base coat and the laquer. SHINY!

Once the paint had cured i meshed it and i am debaiting whether to put the badge in the middle or not.

What you guys reckon, badge or not?

Looks good, much better than the previous persons attempt. I'd say do it without the badge, it's a bit lairy for my tastes but remember at the end of the day it's what you like that counts.

with the badge it reminds me of the JDM one that i have seen a few pictures of on here, any pictures of it on the car with and without the badge?

With the badge in it is reminiscent of the JDM option grilles (Like that on tommo's si, which originally had a gti badge in)

Lokks nice I would leave the badge on but put it at the side, I had it like this on my old vtr..

I thought it looked good....

Please no abuse for owning a Saxo.... It was fun to drive & cheap to insure & mod

I think i will stick with the badge and put it to the right of the mesh

You've done a good job.

But I think open mouth grille's look cheap and nasty on the GTi. Just looks like it's smilling like a tard.

Nice work mate, I'm doing a similar thing with a p2 grill but leaving the bit for the nissan badge.

I reckon black mesh will finish that off nicely. GTI badge to the side looks better .
