I'd say it has because it doesn't have the join lines under the rear lights.

Air feed pipe sits just behind the GTi badge in the front grille

What join lines do you mean?

The bumpers front and rear have definately had a repaint you can see that with the new/old colour match. Not sure about the rest of the car, its a possibility?

Can you guys confirm, is it the standard factory fitted Phase 1 bodykit????

Thats a factory standard kit for your car mate. yours is a late Phase 1 if im not mistaken.

Yes mate, it is a 1998 GTi just before they changed for the "less aggressive" body kit. Good ole Phase 1's.

Sweet, I'm thinking of doing the same thing, but with the lettering left silver.

piece of fine sandpaper will take the black off the lettering just do it gently and it makes it look loads better, breaks it up a bit.
