Hi all,

My first post….

I am looking to get a new set of alloy wheels but I want to know how big I can go if you like. I have a standard N15 and currently have a set of 13” [175 / 70 R 13].

I would like a set of 16”s though if they are going to be a really tight fit then I’d settle for 15”s.

Feel free to throw up any links to good stockists.

I would like to budget myself at about £300 Inc packaging

Any feedback is very much appreciated

Cheers

Craig

those wagon ass arches will easily take 19's with no arch mods..... paul f used to have 19's with a 70-100mm drop on his 5-door n15 1.4 and only got minor rubbing.

as for alloy suppliers i dont think you can go wrong with www.wheel-base.co.uk

as for your budget...... i dont think £300 will get you very far at all

13"`s .... you big boy you!.....lol.....didn`t know they came that small!....16s will fit no problem as will 17s, even 18s fit ok .....

18" alloys down 100mm, no rubbing even with a full car and a full boot, only slightly scrapes the front inner arch liners when on full lock. There are a couple of us running this setup. Dont think anyone has 19's fitte at the moment but it has been done

easy solution to that..... rip the fookers out :D just give it a good clean out when you wash the car.

17's or 15's are your best bet lookin at your budget, as they are the most common wheel n tyre packages. Personally id steer clear of 16's as the tyres for 17's and 15's are lot cheaper when you come to replace them.

As your car has 13's im assuming its a 1.4 so its a case of how much of the limited performance you have got do you want to loose? As 17s will make your car alot more sluggish and the 15s will only make it slightly worse howeever the 17s will look better.

Thanks for all the replies...you guys are fast!!

Now, prepare for many a stupid question as I am a novice when it comes to modding!

I have had a good scan about for alloys and checked out how they look on other modded almeras - now...can someone explain the exact definition of the following [ 175 / 70 R 13 ] as displayed on tyre. I see alot of other people have alloys which look like they have more alloy than tyre and others which is 50/50 - If Im going to spend quite a bit on these alloys Id really like the alloy to stand out alot more than the tyre - is there a certain measurement I need to look for to get this look?

I hope Ive explained this properly.

Thanks again

Craig

PS. Can anyone suggest any 17"' tyres which would compliment my Almera, 1.4 action and a link to a site if possible.

ok...

215/40/R17

215 = width of tyre in mm
40 = percentage of width that is side wall height (ie. rim to outside)
R17 = rim size (ie. 17")

you want to keep the rolling diameter as close to your stock rolling diameter as possible to save your speedo going out of whack.

Tyres will depend on the width of the rim you get as well as the original tyre/rim combination.

Yeah most 17 packages will come with 205/40r17. There are tyre size convertion charts on the web that will give you a guide as to how your speedo will read with the new wheels on.
