Hey guys, I'm pretty new to this place, I've owned my almera for about a year and half and always wanted to do little changes to it but always had that thought in the back my head I'll bust something completely. My question is has any one changed the aerial on their car, mainly from the Eiffel towers on the roof to something a little more subtle like the shark fins. If so how do you go about it??

if yes, there are a stack of stumpy aerials that will screw in to the main body of it.
if your aerial is in the a-pillar, its a (much) bigger job.

Yes thats the aerial I have, I mainly want to replace the ISO connection in the back of the stereo, and thought the the entire thing would have to come out, plus it would be nice to replace the actual antenna with a stumpy one
Shark fin is easy enough to do. You will need to join the power supply wire if you buy an amplifed ariel as the nissan ariel has a connector plug that will not simply plug in to the new one.
I don't really want to go splicing the wires up, I've found a few short aerials on eBays that catch my fancy, I only want it to be less noticeable as its almost a foot long. Trying to make the car stealthy by making little changes, like using fine black mesh on the front bumper and pondering if black 17's would be good on a white phase 2 N15
Problem is even if you do manage to get a nice little one, it will look ridiculous in the stock position.
I always wanted to just install a phase 2 into the roof at the back, but I would still be left with either the stock aeriel or a blanking plate.
I just run it with the 'thickest' part of the aerial out so its about a foot long, my radio reception is fine like that.
Or just run it at full extension like a love god.

I know that lol, but as my first car it's currently in Grandad spec i.e. Stock and just sticks out so I want to throw some blackness on it like tint on rear windows and lowering it with some springs. There's quite a few Almeras around swansea (not many GTI's) and they're all the same which is kinda way I'd like to make mine different
