N15 gti spigot rings???

Hi guys i was wondering if not having spigot rings on my 16" ssp alloys from standard 15" gti alloys would cause my whirring rumbling noise as i hv had everything and i mean everything changed and still get my noise if so what size rings would i need?????

Spigot rings are there for a reason. Googling will get you the almera hub size and corresponding ssp bore size.

Yes singh wheel bearing fine as its only a rumble whirring picking up speed and slowing down and doesnt change when turning plus had 3 garages check even with the stethascope thingy plus carnt reproduce noise when no load on the front and cheers rowdy on with that now

i.d 60.1mm, u will need to measure the outer diameter though (on the alloys) and there dead cheap on ebay pal (approx £5 for 4)

if it sounds like a bearing noise and it isn't, and increase's in noise as speed rise's, then it's probably your tyres. put your 15" ones back on and check. my old tyres did this. changed rubber,no noise.

cbl's shouldn't make any differentence, you'd put them in if the steering wheel's shaking at speed.

So you only use spigot rings if you get steering shake?! What about the extra strain on the studs? For the sake of a few quid, buy them.

every wheel should locate on the hub for correct centring if you can, stops static imbalance of the rim/tyre assy (don't ask, look it up).

nuts should be all done up to the same torque measurement too...

rowdy, there's a million 4wd's out here whose wheels that aren't centrebore located that have no stud trouble. i'm simply saying the noise is probably in the tyres, not the centring of them. could be an alignment issue as well causing this.

Well as of tomorrow im going to get a 3rd opinion from a nissan garage on my wheel bearing plus im going to buy sprigot rings just for peace of mind hopefully i shall find out tomorrow as its costing my 65 quid for a full drivetrain, transmission and bearings check but hey ho havent got the cash for another car so maise well fix the 1 i got as its tidy bar this noise

Well good news it turned out to be the inside of the wheel bearing scoring the the outer bit the nissan tech was suprised i heard it lol but new bearing inand as far as i can tell everything ok and only ended up paying 47+ vat for part and fitting so happy days roll on japfest2
