N15 GTI tweaked at Nurburgring?

Hi guys (& gals),

Just signed up to the membership as decided to keep my 97 N15 GTI with 104,000 miles on the clock. Figured I still have a few more reliable miles from it.
Anyway, I have heard rumours that when Nissan created the N15 GTI, they tuned the suspension etc at the Nurburgring track?

Any of you heard this?

Never heard that? Maybe you`re getting the Skyline mixed up with the N15?

I thought Nissan had their own test track facility?

anyway is it me or is every new car these days tested/set-up @ the ring - so what imo.
relates very little to the road unless cars driven at its limits which is never road or track!!

ie could the stig jump in ur car and get better lap time???
