N16 2.2 Dci 112bhp vs 136bhp Engine and Tuning Differences

Hi,
I have a N16 2.2 Dci 5 speed and from what I have been able to find out my version is the 112bhp version as the 136bhp N16 only came as a 6 speed, am I correct ?
Also I was just wondering what is the differences in the cars, I had read somewhere that they are the same just tuned differently and have a different transmission , is this the case?
If so does anybody know the tuning capabilities Of the 112bhp.
Any response is greatly appreciated,
Thanks, Zir0.

Yes the 136bhp is 6 speed, Their is a specialist diesel section which was created by the dci Guru Ed, I believe you need to be a paid member to browse the Diesel sections, but Feel free to take a look through Ed's DCI-R threads to give you an idea on 136bhp DCi tunning.

Essentially the 112 is different turbo, no intercooler, different mapping, and different transmission.

Thanks for the replies guys,
This is a bit of a bummer was hoping it was just a case of different tuning on the engine. At least it's still the same engine essentially
Damien that's a nice improvement without having a remap or major tuning. Getting the egr blanked sounds like a good place to start before a remap?

See Ed's new EGR blanking, with a tiny hole, so that the MIL light doesn't come on.
EGR is there due to the laws regarding pollution&environment. It doesn't do your car any favours whatsoever. The hot, dirty air covers your insides with gunk AND it hurts your MPG

You only need add an intercooler and remap it to be a beast! I actually prefer my 5speed gearbox to my 6speed, I find the power starts a lot sooner and is sharper off the lights, than my 136

I'm sure somebody here has a Forge Intercooler going spare if you want to get that extra power ( go on V, sell him). Ed's got a detailed thread on the tubing you need also.

Thanks wodgey will have a look when I get time. Ya when you mentioned it I did a bit of research, here in Ireland as far as I know ill be failed on emissions in the doe (Vans mot)
Liking the sound of the performance boost from these engines. I find theres a serious turbo lag though.
Im sure ill have it going sweet by summer.
Thanks again lads, nice to see such a active forum
