N16 2000 1.5 engine, how about speed module?

Hello you all!
Do you have any experience about "white lightning" speed module/chip? Does it change fuel economy? And is it safe to use? Im wondering if i purchase one from Ebay..

But new Almera has same engine and little more power, but same fuel economy. Do you know the difference between 2000 and 2006 models?

I think te difference is the removal of some parts - for example my N16 1.5 (2000 model) and Gilly's N16 1.5 (2000 model?) have EGR Valves and air temp sensors whilst shakey's N16 1.5 (2001 model) doesn't have either...

All cars mentioned above are Phase 1 N16's - however Phase 2 N16's im not so sure...
