N16 CD Changer Beeping

My battery went completly flat the other day in my N16 phase 1.
Now the standard cd changer constantly beeps and flashes all the lights - its really annoying! Thing is I don't even use it because I replaced the head unit so it doesn't work anymore.
Anyone know how to stop it from bleeping? (apart from disconnecting it alltogether!)
