N16 DET transplant?

Alright, so everyone probably knows mine is no closer to being completed after 3 years....
....But my question is, has anyone else done it?

I know there was that 'stone2loud' who did it, but it was knicked and not seen since. Anyone else?

I've been looking, but not found any others, seems strange. Maybe I put everyone off, lol!

i think you r one of the first. ive seen one with a sr16ve engine but dont think it was that impressive as the n16 is a heavy car. It would be good if sumone produced some carbon parts for it such as bonnet and doors as they weight a hell of alot.

Been done in Oz land, but I havnt heard of it being done in the UK with the exception of yours. Damn shame you (quite obviously) got disheartened :/ Damn cowboys *throws rocks at their garage*

I had heard of a lad in Ireland that had done it a few years back. Had a modified GTi, wrote it off got the 1.8L N16 and was bitterly dissapointed in the speed so swapped out the SR20. Dunno how true the story was though as the guy supposedly came into a bit of money before he did it, made it a 4WD SR20 powered N16 and only uses it as a track day car. If I run into the guy that told me again I'll ask for pics...

Lol, rhyd. I know about that one cheers Darren!

Just wondering really. Seeing as i'm now clinging on to the hope it may once again see the tarmac, I don't want to lay a claim to it being a one-off, as i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be by now.

Lol, think i'll be lucky to get her back before the car becomes obsolete tho!
