N16 QG18 Uprev Osiris

Hi guys,

I'm not sure if anyone over there is really interested in this, however due to coming closer to the point where i'll be taking the car off the road for a period so I can turbo it, i've done quiet a bit of research into this.

Now the blokes(and lasses) over at B15u.com have started using the UpRev Osiris reflash on the SpecV QR25DE's. Uprev currently do not support the QG18, however I've done a bit of emailing back and forth to sustain compatibility. Uprev have contacted me and informed me that they can offer something for the QG18DE, however due to my car not being available in the USA, that testing may be a long process, which could take a while. This is partly due to offering support for another motor and the qg18de market not being a large one.

Osiris operates using the CAN bus system via the stock OBD2 Service port. From my understanding the software was originally developed for the VQ35DE, but now they are starting to slowly offer support for other motors. The software does cater for Real Time Tuning, but certain functions can only be performed by a reflash.

ECU options for the S2 petrol N16 are very limited, partially due to the electronic throttle and OBD2. Piggyback systems can have the tendency to suffer from "tune drift" due to the stock ECU's learning ability.

I've looked at the option of full aftermarket ECU's, however on a daily driven car, I feel that the loss of some functionality with air con, etc deem going this path not worth it.

The major plus side I see to the Uprev Osiris is the ability to revert the ECU to completely stock, removing the modified reflash, and returning the car to stock. Also the factor that it doesn't need to be wired in is also another factor.

There are already 2 dealers of the UpRev products in the UK, RS Tuning and Abbey Motorsport.

I guess the reason I'm posting this, is to see wether there is any other interest out there from anyone else that may be interested in this product. I'm quiet happy to be a test pilot, but the more interest i can get raised for a product like this, the more effort Uprev will put into it and will result in a quicker turn around process.

Dave.

Excellent news Dave. I would think Liam might be interested in this, and possibly Almerasleeper.

I heard about Uprev a year ago when I was speaking to RS Tuning about my car. It could have been something to look into for me, but I wasnt able to take my car off the road to hand over my ECU or able to source another. I now have a spare ECU ;). My DCi ECU is no doubt different to yours though but thought I'd mention it.

I hope you get some support on this one mate :thumb:

Something to buy and send off perhaps. Not clear if it's 2003+ but it looks different to the p1 ECUs that are also on ebay - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/454-NISSAN-AL...arParts_SM&hash=item5ad387e4a2#ht_1463wt_1140

That ECU looks different to my 04 ECU. But I've sourced a replacement ECU from one wreckers, who in his words "yea mate i've got a whole stack of em here sitting on the shelf" and because he rarely offloads them, doesn't want a fortune for them either. He only wrecks N14/15/16's and Tiida's.

I've found a local tuner who is willing to work with the Osiris software(although he isn't an approved dealer) has had some work with it before.

I'd say this is going to be a pretty long process, as from what Rich at uprev has discussed with me, it looks like it may involve sending the ECU back to them a few times.

Ideally I'd love to find a willing body in the USA to do all the testing, but it seems all the blokes over there seem happy with just the SAFC2. I think this will be one of those build it and they'll come type scenarios.

when my SR20DE is in the car you can have my ECU for free if I don't need it to run anything else (I don't think I need it but just incase I do). I will supply the NATS code with the ECU. but no key or chip (I got a JDM Style Snap on scew driver Key and the transponder is glued in and I can't remove it) the other Key I have for the N16 the transponder is faulty. I have a QG15DE Engine in mine but I will post up pictures and model numbers when it is out of the car so you can match the ECU to see if its the same. Not being funny or anything but if I don't need the ECU some one has to pay for P&P so I can send it off to the people that will work on it.

Right I have ECU stripped out of my N16. any one want it with the NATS Code?

I have the ECU with 3 plugs that go into it
