Happenin Zee welcome to the forum
To reiterate or extend on what Darren was saying here's the main differences: -
Phase 1 Front End (i'll use my shoddy N16 as an example)
Phase 2 Front End (nicked from Google Images)
And here's another comparison
Phase 1 Rear End (again my shoddy example)
And a Phase 2 Rear End (again another one nicked from Google Images)
And there are Phase 2's with 1.8's, i've just done a search locally on autotrader
clicky
And iirc the Phase 2 1.5's put out bout 98hp whereas the Phase 1's only gave 90hp (manufacturer claims) however i'm not 100% on this - i'm sure some of the other guys here who work for Nissan will be able to confirm this.
And with regard's to your Sat Nav question, i've got a copy of Nissan FAST (Electronic Parts Catalogue Software - basically a load of pics of parts) and by the looks of things both systems are different (Phase 2 had it built in whereas the Phase 1 system worked similar to the pop up lid you've probably got the now) So you'd need the following: -
Part: Sat Nav Display Unit
Part No: 28090-5M500
Part: Lid Cluster (bit where the pop up lid covers)
Part No 1: 68260-BM410 (Black)
Part No 2: 68260-BM411 (Grey)
Part: Sat Nav Head Unit
Part No 1: 25915-5M511 (MY Jan '00 to Jul '00)
Part No 1: 25915-5M512 (MY Jul '00 to Aug '01)
Part No 1: 25915-5M513 (MY Aug '01 to Oct '01) - What these variences i haven't a clue
Part No 1: 25915-5M514 (MY Aug '01 to Feb '02)
Part No 1: 25915-5M516 (MY Feb '02 to Aug '02)
Part: Sat Nav CD-ROM (Maps)
Part No: 25920-5M560
Part: Sat Nav CD-ROM (For Programming)
Part No 1: 25920-5M001 (MY Jan '00 to Jul '00)
Part No 2: 25920-5M002 (MY Jul '00 to Mar '01)
Part No 3: 25920-5M004 (MY Mar '01 to Feb '02)
Part: Sat Nav GPS Aerial
Part No: 25975-4M400
Part: Sat Nav Sub Harness
Part No 1: 24036-BM600 (MY Jan '00 to Dec '00)
Part No 2: 24036-BM610 (MY Dec '00 to Dec' 01)
Part No 3: 24036-BM620 (MY Dec' 01 to Aug '02)
And probably a shed load of other bits ALONG with the every friendly NATS system either needing reprogrammed or indeed replaced with "to be programmed" parts and for that kinda money you've probably got a deposit on a new car.
You'd be better off getting an aftermarket one, for example a Pioneer one with the motorized screen for an equal amount of money or less

Hope that answers your question :thumb:
