hi can anyone give me advice and parts needed to fit a pulsar gtir engine into a 1999 almera gti please can you help so i dont spend money on something thats going to cost a fortune thanks

As a quick summary, you'll need:

GTiR Engine.
GTi loom
GTi Distributor
GTi sensors, knock sensor, oil sender and maybe o2 sensor
GTiR MAF
GTi ECU with Greddy Emanage mapped to run.
Front mount intercooler (or a bonnet that can take the top mount.)
uprated engine mounts(recommended)
Uprated clutch
GTi gearbox
Uprated fuel pump
Bigger brakes are advised
Custom exhaust from downpipe, all the way back.

i worked out a ball-park a few months ago and reckon you would be able to get one, in and running for minimum 3k. Thats with mapping the emanage and everything.

All depends on how much you get the bits for and who does the work.

Think Scott's isn't costing much at all, 2k max.

But he has had a full engine rebuild on the DET, and along with his Willwood's and LSD, it pushes the cost's up more.

thanks everyone for the advice i know its easier to buy a gtir but its not the same i used to own a mg zr with a 2.0 turbo conversion running 250bhp and that used to f**k heads up when ive left evos and scoobys at lights thinking they were going to have an easy race thats why i would not mind doing the same with the almera

buy one that's not rusty then
at least you will be able to get the power down then rather than just spinning up in a one wheel drive gti...
(noticed a lsd wasn't inc on the above list)

also if money is tight can you not just fit the gti-r loom and ecu rather than going for a aftermarket ecu?

You could use the loom, if you don't want NATS. like Rhyd said.

You could also buy a GTi-R but everyone knows there fast, and knows what it's capable of.

Almera GTi's look way better, and would be a nice wow factor to Focus RS's. lol

Bang a Nismo lsd in and you will be sound.

up to now ive spent a fortune lol, but i have uprated a lot of the parts on thecar

big brakes £750
front mount etc £300
coilovers £550
pulsar complete car £1300 (stripped for parts)
engine rebuild with all genuin nissan parts £1400
lsd/diff insert £200 (including fitting)
clutch/flywheel £500 ish (ordering asap)

well its still cheaper than getting the audi quattro lol

Well worth it i think. At least you know the engines virtually brand new and will be good for rest of its life with you. Same can't be said for alot of modern cars.

PM me if you need any parts as i'm sorta collecting GTiRs now, i have my low mileage mint one and 2 i've stripped :O hehe

My ex-girlfriend spent about A$16K on hers when she redid her N15 and dropped a GTiR in....

The GtiR loom isn't a direct fit in and it needs to be spliced with the N15 loom in order for it to work properly.. probably the most work of the whole conversion... Other than that they bolt over quite nicely... Aircon lines can be a hassle if you're fitting a front mount and the GTiR top mount doesnt like to fit under the standard N15 bonnet...

The other issue you have after you're running high power through the car is the 3rd gear in the RS5F3A gearbox doesn't like to hold out... Plenty of people manage to strip 3rd gear clean..

We've got a whole heap of GTiR N15s running round in oz now with the quickest running consistent 12.4 1/4 miles with a few issues still to sort out...

Definitely a worthy project!!!!

any chance of letting us know which wires need splicing etc, cheers

To be honest I couldnt tell you as I didnt do the splicing...

Each wire needs to be matched up to the equivalent wire... It requires sitting down with a RNN14 Wiring Diagram and an N15 wiring diagram and a lot of patience....
